Add LiveCha chat to your website using the installation code generated for your workspace. You need permission to edit your website or access to the person who maintains it.
- Open the intended LiveCha workspace and its website installation page. During onboarding, use the installation step.
- Review the website configuration and copy the complete generated installation code.
- Add the code to your website's shared layout before the closing
</body> tag, or use your site's custom code feature.
- Publish the website changes. Install the snippet once per page to avoid duplicate widgets.
- Open the public website in a private window, then refresh the installation status in LiveCha.
Use the code generated for this workspace. Do not replace its identifiers with credentials from another workspace or put a private API token into your website code.
Check the detected page URL and latest installation activity. Send a visitor message and confirm it reaches the right workspace. Reply from the workbench and verify the reply in the visitor window. An installation indicator alone does not verify the entire conversation flow.
- Confirm the published page contains the complete snippet.
- Check website and trusted domain settings against the actual domain, including
www or other subdomains.
- Check whether a consent manager, browser extension or content security policy blocks the script or connection.
- Review widget availability and visibility settings.
- For a single page application, use the installation page's advanced loader guidance and avoid adding the snippet repeatedly on navigation.
See Troubleshoot messages and connections if the widget loads but messages do not arrive.
